The Origin Story...
As told by Sarah Boxx.
When I was in my teens, I was asked the most common question thrown at young people:
"What do you want to do with your life?"
At the time, I wanted to write. But that's not all! I also had aspirations of becoming a circus clown who rode a unicycle. More accurately, I wanted to go to clown school to learn and meet different types of people. (Can't you just picture it?!)
Later, that dream of meeting people and exploring new places morphed to driving a large bus full of teenagers around the country. I wanted to show them how big the U.S. is and help them see and appreciate its wonders and possibilities. To open up their worlds (and mine, too.)
Many years later, that vision changed again.
What was mobile became stationary. I now wanted to have a building, a physical space where inner exploration could occur alongside the other learning, expansion and evoking that comes through connection. In fact, I sketched out what this two-story, open, airy, space would look and feel like, who would be in it to welcome and care for our community of one- time visitors and ongoing members.
It's always seemed to be that the "place" would be like rich, furtile soil where we, the community, could put down roots. A place where we can co-create, explore, or have fun as we gather together.
Now, the ongoing dream has shifted again. It's more expansive. The purpose and central focus remain as we begin here in the SandBoxx™.
The SandBoxx™ is a virtual space with real people.
We have "rooms" and spaces for you, our guests, members, and family, to take a beat and pause ; to learn, find other creatives, leaders, teachers, healers and innovators; make connections near and far that can expand your world and open possibilities.
What will the SandBoxx™ become? Well, that will be largely decided by our members. We've set the stage for the first six months and will co-create the months to come with our community.
